I appreciated your article - I am developing / revamping curriculum for Wind Technology, and am looking at Wind Tech - Hydraulics & Mechanical Concepts. I would welcome any feedback or recommendations for newer text books on the subject

Regards,

Interesting topic given the experience that enXco Service Corporation has with operating wind turbines well past 20 years. A significant number of the 5,300+ wind turbines that enXco Service has under contract are well over 20 years old - and maintain availability in the high 90% range. Advances in lubricants combined with proper O&M allow these "vintage" machines to have very long useful lives.

Through testing gears, machineries can live longer than before. It helps check the workability of specific devices at its utmost capacity. That is why some companies put up test gears rental as their business because it certainly caters a lot of peoples' needs.
