housing. It provides high-volume original equipment manufacturers with a broad selection of operators, and features, which can be used in high pressure and high temperature wash-down environments.

Customers can change a button’s function in the field. Maintained pushbuttons and momentary selector switches can be field converted to momentary and maintained, thereby reducing inventory. ”

The C22 product line is compact and easy to install, features monoblock construction with built-in contacts, and engineered for simple push-through and tighten installation. Although the 22-mm design is compact, it offers the same pressable area as 30-mm pushbuttons.

The C22 devices are engineered for harsh industrial environments with an IP67 rating on most front elements. Many standard operators also have more stringent IP69K ratings, protecting them from submersion and high pressure and temperature wash-down.

Standard C22 pushbuttons have a mechanical lifespan of five million operations and can operate in temperatures between -25 and 70°C. The pushbuttons meet Underwriters Laboratories , Canadian Standards Association, and International Electrotechnical Commission standards.

Pitch control cylinders with integral valves, the Vickers LESA Series TT servo actuator, combines a high performance hydraulic cylinder and a control valve mounting manifold in one convenient package. Advanced, closed-loop motion control comes from the addition of a proportional or servo valve and a precision non-contacting feedback transducer, and appropriate electronic controls.

The LESA series of servo actuators eliminate need for separate hydraulic manifolds, plumbing between control valve and cylinder, transducer mounting brackets, and other complex arrangements. With the option of a cast aluminum cover, a position transducer can be conveniently and safely contained within the cylinder assembly. This lets the LESA Series TT servo actuator work comfortably in harsh environments that can easily damage most electric servo motors with ball screws and other types of actuators.

Incorporated into the design of the pitch control cylinders, Eaton’s Vickers proportional valves have product breadth and width consisting of onboard electronics (OBE) & non-OBE, full functionality, complete sizes, and different performance levels to meet various customer demands. The KB family of proportional valves integrated OBE with superior reliability and durability.

Yaw brake, drive brake and pitch control power units are high-performance, low noise, small packages built for harsh environments. Eaton poster

Poster #249 from Eaton Corp., in the Performance & Reliability section in Hall A&B Concourse.

Pitch-control systems are crucial to the overall operation of a utility grade turbine. There are two prevalent approaches to the task: Hydraulic and the Electric Pitch Systems. Combining end-user feedback and an internal Eaton assessment, this poster presentation considers each system from a performance, safety, reliability, and maintenance perspective. The poster will analyze these on a system and component level and outline the benefits of the hydraulic approach.
