Workers needing bifocal vision correction and eye protection on the job now have access to an even stronger magnification lens option. To meet the needs of a growing aging workforce, Gateway Safety has added a clear 3.0 diopter lens option to its two bifocal eye protection styles—Scorpion MAG and StarLite MAG. Both come in five diopter strengths: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0.
Bifocal safety eyewear lets workers needing extra magnification clearly read instrumentation and documents, work with small parts, or perform other close-at-hand tasks—without switching between regular safety glasses and reading glasses, a dangerous practice that can result in errors and eye injuries.
Scorpion MAG bifocal safety eyewear comes loaded with features that provide a personalized fit and all-day comfort. Adjustable-length ratcheting temples and a soft “fingertip” nosepiece make Scorpion MAG fit comfortably without slipping. The dual lens design has a venting system that helps minimize fogging. Meets or exceeds the ANSI Z87.2+ standard.

StarLite MAG, a bifocal version of the StarLite safety glasses, has comfort features and all-around impact protection. The company says it is the most cost-effective bifocal eye protection. Meets or exceeds the ANSI Z87.2+ standard.

Heat is a hazard that is too easily ignored. To make it worse, wearing semi or non-permeable protective equipment adds to the risk of overheating or fatigue which leads to
accidents on the job.
The ventilated safety helmet from Gateway Safety can help minimize heat buildup under the shell of the helmet, while offering optimal head injury protection. Its airflow system, along with six vents along the peak of the helmet, promotes heat release to keep workers cool. A comfortable, cushioned brow pad absorbs moisture and perspiration, promoting comfortable wear and worker compliance. A rain trough also diverts water from workers’ faces.
The helmet is comfortable and lightweight at 13.1 ounces, with a sleek, snakehead shell style. A six-point nylon suspension and sturdy yet lightweight high-density polyethylene material provide comfort and impact absorption. The helmet comes with a pin-lock or ratchet suspension, which adjusts to fit head sizes from 6-5/8 to 8-¼.
