Automatic Power, Inc. has appointed Kenneth Meador as president. Meador currently serves as president of TWR Lighting, Inc., another Toxaway Capital Partners portfolio company, and will continue in that role.

Meador has been instrumental in the success of TWR Lighting, a company that has been named to the “Inc. 5000” the last four years. Under his leadership, TWR maintained its strong market position in the telecommunications and broadcast sectors and has established itself as a leading provider of aviation obstruction lighting to the rapidly growing wind power industry. Meador’s accomplishments were recognized last year when he was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for the Manufacturing and Distribution Category for the Houston & Gulf Coast region.

“We are excited to have Ken’s leadership and expertise become part of the Automatic Power team,” said Scott Dickinson, CEO of Automatic Power Inc. (API). “We believe that his demonstrated business acumen will significantly enhance API’s commitment to provide innovative products addressing the marine aids to navigation industries, and he will be instrumental in guiding our growth in, among other things, the offshore wind power industry in the U.S. and abroad. Additionally, we believe Ken’s dual role will play an important part in the strategic cohesiveness between API and TWR.”
