A Leibherr LR 1400 erected the 1,000th Enercon wind turbine in Europe.
Late in 2010, turbine OEM Enercon celebrated the installation of the 1,000th windpower plant in Portugal. Performing the operation was a Liebherr LR 1400/2 crawler crane from Portuguese crane company Montalgrua. To mount the 63-ton machine housing on the tower at a hook height of 85 m, the 400-ton crane was deployed with a 91-m main boom, derrick, and 10.7-m fixed jib.
