OEM intros a new service package

By Paul Dvorak | September 20, 2012

A Nordex N100 works in Germany.

In addition to the “Basic”, “Extended” and “Premium” service contracts, Nordex’ after sales customers can now select a Premium Light package for the maintenance of their wind turbines. The program entails the elements of the full-service contract but lets owners exclude large turbine components. In this way, operators can cover their risk in a manner in line with their requirements.

The Premium contract is said to not include repairs, deliveries of spare parts, or replacement of, for example gearboxes, generators, rotor blades, or main converter. Premium Light is particularly targeted at clients who wish to minimize administrative costs arising in connection with standard repairs and are able to assess the condition of the main components of their turbines.

The contract is applicable only in after sales for existing wind parks. An extension of the offering also for new wind-farm projects is currently under investigation and will be possible based on positive market feedback.
