7. In 1950, Danish Engineer Johannes Juul developed a two-blade, 10-kW wind turbine. The self-regulating turbine had blade tips with aerodynamic brakes. Juul later developed a 45-kW wind turbine and a three-bladed, 200-kW wind turbine which ran for 10 years without requiring maintenance. It was Denmark’s first large-scale wind turbine.
