Breeze to provide management system for Cabeolica’s wind farms

By Michelle Froese | September 6, 2017

Cape Verde-based Cabeolica has chosen Breeze to provide wind management at its wind farms. Csbeolica is committed to the socio-economic development of the country, and contributing wind energy as the main fuel-alternative energy source in Cabo Verde.

Breeze Wind Farm Management

Wind turbines are remotely connected to Breeze via on-site SCADA systems, resulting in a single powerful tool to monitor, analyze, plan, and control diverse wind portfolios of any size.

With wind farms on the islands of Santiago, São Vicente, Sal, and Boa Vista, Cabeolica generates roughly 22% of the electricity consumed on the country’s main islands. It avoids, on average, the production of approximately 55,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year, in addition to contributing toward reducing fuel importation needs.

The company’s main objective is the production of electricity for the national grid as an independent producer using non-polluting, renewable and naturally abundant wind energy.

“We found Breeze to be a very modern impressive system and very suitable for our needs,” said Helder Andrade, Technical Manager at Cabeolica. “We are looking forward to using Breeze on a daily basis.”

Breeze is an independent wind0farm management system used globally by wind-turbine owners, operators, and asset managers to capture the full potential of wind energy projects.

Jonas Corné, CEO at Greenbyte added, “We are very happy to have been chosen by Cabeolica. They are pioneers wind energy company in Cabo Verde and deservedly getting international recognition for their ambitious project.”
