38-kV circuit breaker for wind

By Windpower Engineering | April 11, 2011

A compact 38-kV medium voltage circuit breaker simplifies generating power from wind farms. The VCP-Wind helps manage power reliably, efficiently, and safely with a footprint 30% smaller than Eaton’s current 38 kV VCP-Wi product. A few features include its environmentally friendly SF6-free design, easy to access and inspect, and minimal maintenance for optimum safety. In addition, insertion is a direct roll in. It has a lightning impulse level of 150 kV, a normal current of up to 2,000A without fans, and its shortime-withstand current is up to 31.5 kA.
