Is it possible to find a faster, easier and more efficient way to handle sensitive and high-viscous liquids, pastes and semi-solid products? Yes, it is. The recently launched PowerbagPress (pat. pending) combined with Fluid-Bag’s flexible IBCs bring considerable savings, simplifies daily handling and application of difficult products such as adhesive resins and epoxy bonding pastes.
Up to now, discharging efficiency of machines that handle sensitive and high-viscous liquids, pastes and semi-solid produces has left manufacturers asking for better methods. In addition, material residue and material flow rate has been a real issue for many companies. The risk of contamination, air bubbles and large variations in mixing ratios have resulted in uncertainty of application and life-expectancy of the end-product.
These issues have led to development of the PowerbagPress. Manufacturer Fluid-Bag Ltd. has created a new concept with this powerful discharge unit. The push-of-a-button PowerbagPress is used together with Fluid-Bag’s flexible IBC (intermediate bulk container) systems (900 and 1,000 liters). During discharge the flexible container is rolled up and squeezed flat, much like a tube of toothpaste.
One of the benefits is that material residue in the containers can be reduced to 0.5%. To date, no other container system can offer the same level of discharge efficiency. The PowerbagPress was developed to reach a flow rates well above 35 kg/min. In the first real life implementation, results with a solid adhesive resin reached as high as 50 kg/min, so the possibilities to increase application speed are evident, even with fewer operators. The correct flow and mixing of two-component materials in the application ensures the best durability in bonding and improves productivity. Risky container changes during material application are also avoided.
The company says this new solution lets suppliers and consumers resolve many issues, provide efficient and risk-free material application for the end-user in fields such as wind-turbine blade manufacturing, sandwich constructions, and in the composite and aerospace industries.
