A manufacturer of data loggers offers a model that prevents any data manipulation. Ammonit says its Meteo-40 meets the high standards of MEASNET site assessments and is the first data logger on the market that offers data certification. Meteo-40 can be used for wind site assessment, wind farm monitoring, climate research, as well as solar assessment and solar monitoring.
The data logger integrates a memory of up to 2 GB to record a complete 1s data measurement (at typical number of sensors). In order to offer as much flexibility as possible, the device is equipped with up to 35 channels. These include digital channels for smart sensors such as the Thies TMR wind vane, a high sensitivity analog input for temperature sensor PT100 and RS-485 to connect up to 8 smart sensors parallel. Moreover, it delivers precise resolution with 16 bits, 8 Hz.
The data exchange between device and local PC is done via a HTTPS connection, email, satellite, or direct interface. Therefor Meteo-40 offers a web interface to easily access data or modify settings. As a result of the dual-processor Linux design the whole measurement system can be operated only with a 50-W solar panel.
