A closer look at DNV GL’s Battery Performance Scorecard

By Michelle Froese | December 14, 2018

In this WindTalk podcast, we speak with Dr Davion Hill of DNV GL, the world’s largest resource of independent energy experts and certification body.

DNV GL recently released its first annual Battery Performance Scorecard, which provides independent ranking and evaluation of battery vendors based on extensive laboratory testing. Battery storage can help with the variability of wind, storing power when winds are high for later use when winds are low.

Dr Hill is DNV GL’s North American Energy Storage Segment Leader and was involved in developing the Battery Performance Scorecard. Here, he answers our battery questions, provides insight from the Scorecard, and explains how it may impact the storage and renewables industries.
