ABB, in conjunction with the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), will once again host a free pre-show technical training seminar on the latest technologies and best practices prior to the start of AWEA Windpower 2015.
The three-hour training session is titled, “ABB Wind Farm Best Practices Series: Optimizing Your Wind Farm’s Output, While Improving Forecasting Capabilities,” will take place on Monday afternoon, May 18 in Room S-210 D at the Orange County Convention Center from 1:00 to 4:00 pm EDT, just prior to the grand opening of the 2015 AWEA Windpower Conference & Exhibition.
The educational session will feature a panel of windpower experts and real-life wind farmers sharing their experiences in the field, and demonstrating how new wind generation technologies beyond the turbine – including maintenance, control systems, analytics and substations – can improve operational decision making.
“Every wind farm owner wants to see their project perform consistently, getting maximum yield when the wind is blowing, and with maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness. It’s really important after a wind farm is installed and the turbines are spinning, that modern maintenance, control systems and analytics software are all set up to make real-time decisions and ensure bankability,” said Dennis McKinley, ABB director of wind power solutions in North America. “ABB is proud to host this free technical training to anyone in the wind industry interested in discussing some of the exciting new breakthroughs going on at wind farms around the United States.”
