Alligator Technologies intros new SBPxx-S1/DCR Linear DC Regulator

By Michelle Froese | October 30, 2018

Alligator Technologies, a supplier of data acquisition and signal conditioning products, introduces the new USBPxx-S1/DCR Linear DC Regulator for use with the USBPxx-S1 product line. The unique product provides convenient power with a battery or any unregulated DC power source.

the all new USBPxx-S1/DCR Linear DC Regulator for use with the USBPxx-S1 product line. The unique product provides convenient power with a battery or any unregulated DC power source. The USBPxx-S1/DCR supports power sources from 9VDC to 30VDC, offers inverse polarity protection and is easy to connect.

Each USBPxx-S1 has intelligence built in to configure itself from power-up with changeable but non-volatile parameters and operate independently in both a turnkey or host computer controlled scenarios.

The USBPxx-S1/DCR supports power sources from 9VDC to 30VDC, offers inverse polarity protection, and is easy to connect. The power adapter is ideal for use in wind farms and remote locations —  anywhere where only battery or DC power is available.

For example, one wind operator is using the product in the torque signal monitoring, measuring stresses on a wind-turbine structure. The low pass filter is being used to eliminate the tachometer signal crossover noise feeding into the torque signal.

This new product compliments the company’s popular USBPIA-S1 USB controlled, single-channel programmable signal conditioning instrumentation amplifier and the USBPGF-S1 instrumentation amplifier with low pass filter. These products are configurable in a wide variety of applications. The software configurable USBPGF-S1 low pass filter is available in a wide range of filter characteristics and, with the USBPIA-S1 instrumentation amplifier, can now amplify very low sensor signals below 1mV to standard ADC resolvable levels.

The USBPxx-S1 provides users with the ability to mix and match filter characteristics and independently select and program each module’s coupling (AC or DC), corner frequency, and gain steps up to x10000 in either single-ended or differential measurements.
