An app for wind professionals

By Kathie Zipp | April 4, 2012

A new app called Wind expert brings together a large range of wind turbine products, and enables wind farm performance and financial analysis. The app features a comprehensive database of links to relevant associations, toolkits, government incentives and in-depth market reports.

The app was created Michael Blaize, an engineer who has spent some time in the wind industry. He says it is an essential tool for wind energy professionals, and an ideal companion for renewable energy students and enthusiasts. Wind expert can assist decision-making and boost a wind project return on investment.

Blaize says there is a sense of secrecy about the performance of wind energy. Manufacturers tend to present their product specifications in different formats and use different performance measures. As a result, comparing products from different manufacturers can be very difficult. He has collected this information in a consistent format, integrated with key energy and financial metrics tailored to particular sites.

The app is available at the appStore at a reduced launch price (20% off) for $11.99.
