Sangamon Wind One has the potential to support 130 MW of wind energy in Illinois.

Apex Clean Energy has acquired a second project from American Wind Energy Management (AWEM). Sangamon Wind One is located in western Sangamon County, Illinois, and has the potential to support 130 MW of wind energy.

“We’re pleased to be working with AWEM to bring another high-quality project to completion,” said Mark Goodwin, President of Apex. “With Sugar Creek before it, Sangamon Wind promises to strengthen Apex’s presence in central Illinois.”

Earlier this year, Apex bought the 175-MW Sugar Creek Wind One, located approximately five miles west of Lincoln, Illinois.

“AWEM is once again very excited to be teaming with Apex to move another project forward through acquisition,” added Andreas Knauer, President of AWEM. “We look forward to our continued relationship with Apex and to working alongside them through the final stages of development and construction.”
