Applications now open for Women in Wind Global Leadership Program

By Michelle Froese | April 3, 2019

The Women in Wind Global Leadership Program is now accepting applications for mentees for its inaugural session, which will run from May 2019 to January 2020.

Women leadThe Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) recently teamed up with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) to launch the Women in Wind Global Leadership Program. The Program aims to accelerate the careers of women in the wind industry, support pathways to leadership positions, and foster a global network of mentorship knowledge-sharing and empowerment.

Women in Wind is looking for 8 to 10 women who currently work in the wind energy industry and wish to join its mission to increase gender diversity, foster the next generation of female leaders, and drive visibility of best practices in the sector.

This year, the Program is focusing participation on emerging wind markets. This means only nationals or current residents of the following countries are eligible to apply: Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Philippines, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam. A track-record of leadership and achievement in professional career is important. Additional eligibility requirements are available here.

Applications will be accepted until April 15, 2019. For questions about applications and the program, please contact womeninwind@gwec.net.
