Renewable energy consultants, AWS Truepower, have released their Wind Trends Bulletin for April 2017. Monthly wind performance maps for April show deviations in the wind resource from average conditions for the month in every region of the world.
The monthly Wind Trends Bulletin is based on a custom combination of three reanalysis datasets: ERA-Interim, MERRA, and CFSR. The use of all three allows for rapid, reliable updates of global wind conditions.
Knowing the performance of the wind can help wind developers understand the performance of their wind plant. AWS Truepower can help identify areas of improvement, reduce downtime, and maximize a wind plant’s energy production.
To reflect the recent acquisition of AWS Truepower by UL, the company has changed the look of the Wind Trends Bulletin. It has also added a link to download a longer list of countries in the 2017 Wind Index.
