AWS Truepower releases Q3 and September 2017 Wind Trends Bulletin

By Michelle Froese | October 16, 2017

AWS Wind Trends for September2017Renewable energy consultants, AWS Truepower, have released their Wind Trends Bulletin for September 2017

Quarterly wind performance maps for Q3 2017 show deviations in the wind resource from average Q3 conditions in every region of the world. Monthly wind performance maps for September 2017 show deviations in the wind resource from average September conditions in every region of the world.

In the third quarter of 2017, winds were above normal relative to the long-term, third-quarter norm (1988-2014) across much of South America, southern Australia, and northeast China. Winds were below normal across North America, as well as much of Europe and Asia. Below-normal winds overspread much of the United States and Canada since the previous quarter.

Most wind producing areas experienced winds 0% to 9% below the norm. Download September 2017 Wind Trends Bulletin here, and the Q3 2017 Wind Trends Bulletin here.
