Binsfeld Engineering’s new TorqueTrak TPM2 features digital output signal

By Michelle Froese | June 19, 2015

Used to monitor and control torque and horsepower on rotating shafts, the new TorqueTrak TPM2 offers a digital output system and requires no shaft modification or disassembly.

Binsfeld Engineering has released the new TorqueTrak TPM2 torque and power-monitoring system for applications including wind turbine machinery. The TPM2 model features a digital RS422 full duplex, serial interface, with user-selectable sample rates ranging from 10 to 4800 samples/second. Signal resolution is 15 bits for eight input ranges from 0 to 32mV/V down to 0 to 0.25mV/V.

TPM2 setup and configuration is easy and convenient with BEI- supplied software. System changes can safely be made away from the shaft using the RS422 interface. Like all Binsfeld Engineering torque telemetry systems, the TorqueTrak TPM2 uses proven and reliable strain gage technology and does not require shaft modification or machine disassembly. Rugged and precise, the TorqueTrak TPM2 is ideal for continuous long-term measurement and is available for shaft diameters from 0.75″(19mm) to 40″ (1016mm).

Since 1971, Binsfeld Engineering has focused on transmitting sensor measurements from the rotating world, in the U.S. and around the world. The TorqueTrak TPM2 continues this focus with user-friendly technology that is both precise and reliable.
