Blattner Energy installs 5 GW of renewables in 2016

By Michelle Froese | May 22, 2017

Blattner Energy, a power-generation contractor and premier provider of renewable energy construction in North America, announced they installed 5,000 MWs of renewable energy in 2016.

In 2016, Blattner installed over 3,000 MWs of wind energy.

“This is an extraordinary achievement that adds up to nearly four percent of all wind and solar installed in the world last year, said Scott Blattner, president of Blattner Energy. “At Blattner, we would like to thank our valued employees, clients and vendors for a successful year.”

In 2016, Blattner installed over 1,400 MWs of solar energy. The installation of Blattner’s solar projects puts the organization at the top of the EPC contractors in the United States, as the leader in 2016, as noted by IHS Markit on March 15, 2017.

Adding to Blattner’s 2016 portfolio is the wind-energy installation of over 3,000 MWs. Blattner has installed more than one-third of all installed wind power capacity in North America to date. Borea Construction delivered over 700 MWs of wind throughout Canada – leading the Canadian market in wind installations.

“We strive to be more than a leader in the industry. We also work toward the advancements of the renewable energy industries through advocacy, education, employee engagement, as well as supporting the organizations AWEA and SEIA,” said Doug Fredrickson, vice president of Blattner Energy.

Blattner is the leading installer of renewable energy with the 5 GWs of renewable energy installed in 2016. This milestone is supported by the portfolio of Blattner, its sister companies, D.H. Blattner & Sons, Inc., and Canadian operation, Borea Construction, ULC.
