CanWEA O&M Summit and Exhibition, coming up, January 30 to 31, 2018

By Paul Dvorak | January 30, 2018

Who: The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) proudly welcomes operations and maintenance professionals and accredited media to gather at CanWEA’s 4th Annual Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Summit on January 30-31 at the Hilton Mississauga. Limited space is available for accredited media.

What: The CanWEA O&M Summit, which includes an exhibition featuring 20 leading companies in the sector, is developed with O&M professionals to help Canadian wind operators make informed decisions when it comes to operating their wind assets in Canada. Topics to be discussed include the role of O&M on a greening grid, health and safety best practices, technical innovations, operational strategies, repowering, cold-climate challenges, and much more. Please see our detailed program.

CanWEA will present two new awards during the O&M Summit. Finalists for the inaugural Health and Safety Award, which recognizes excellence in this critical area of wind farm operations, include Acciona Energy, Cartier Énergie Éolienne, and Vestas Canadian Wind Technology. The Operations and Maintenance Outstanding Achievement Award honors an organization that has demonstrated an innovative, industry-leading approach to wind facility O&M. Finalists include Arista Renewable Energy, EDF EN Canada, and LiftWerx.

Where: Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, 6750 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario, L5N 2L3

Why: With over 12,000 MW of installed wind energy capacity and plans for thousands of more megawatts to be installed in the coming years, responsible and sustainable operations of wind farms has emerged as a critical topic for Canadian wind energy stakeholders. CanWEA’s O&M Summit will bring together key players from the entire spectrum of the wind industry, providing an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and better understand the operational issues unfolding in Canada’s maturing wind sector.
