CanWEA releases program for O&M Summit 2019

By Michelle Froese | December 13, 2018

The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) has released the program for its Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Summit 2019, the largest annual wind operations event in Canada.

CanWEA O&M summit -

CanWEA’s O&M Summit is part of a broader program that allows the wind energy industry to collaborate on areas such as benchmarking data, health and safety best practices, improved networking, innovation and research, and information sharing on critical issues such as wildlife and the environment.

With an expected attendance of over 300 wind energy professionals from across Canada and the United States, the O&M Summit is the best place to get up to speed on the latest technologies, innovations and services in the rapidly-growing wind energy sector. It is also a great opportunity for both structured and informal networking with industry leaders.

The two-day gathering will take place on January 29 to 30, 2019 in Toronto, Ontario at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale.

One major focus of the summit will be to enhance the growing connection of people, technology, organizations, policy development, and experience that is pushing rapid O&M advancements within the wind energy industry – both globally and with customization for Canadian conditions. Summit attendees will be exposed to new ideas from researchers and entrepreneurs; new products and services delivered through “elevator pitches” that delegates will vote on; the event’s largest-ever exhibit space; research huddles highlighting the latest research; and a session dedicated to start-ups and the innovation pathway.

Another key focus will be on health and safety, which is pre-eminent in all aspects of wind energy operations and maintenance. The principles of a strong health and safety culture will be evident within presentations and sessions, and all attendees are invited to participate in a health and safety committee meeting.

Participants will also attend the CanWEA O&M Awards Breakfast where the following annual prestigious awards will be presented: the Outstanding Achievement Award and the O&M Safety Excellence Award.
