Cape Wind, an offshore wind developer in the U.S. has signed a Consulting Services Agreement with the North America division of PMSS – one of Europe’s offshore wind consulting firms, and a part of the TUV SUD group.
Under the agreement, PMSS will assist Cape Wind with a team of experts and know-how to supplement the already strong capability of the Cape Wind project management team. The PMSS staff will be a collaboration of both U.S. engineers and consultants and U.K. offshore wind experts, and will provide industry-leading expertise in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Quality Assurance, Risk Management and other strategic advice.
Today’s announcement follows the recent financing milestone, when Cape Wind signed a term sheet to engage The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ as its Coordinating Lead Arranger of the commercial bank portion of the total debt financing for the 468MW offshore wind farm.
Cape Wind expects to complete project financing and begin construction by the end of the year.
