Catch the Wind signs sales agreement with BP Wind Energy

By KRemington | June 28, 2010

Catch the Wind Ltd. says it has sold two Vindicator laser wind sensors to BP Wind Energy. After installing and testing the units, BP Wind Energy has agreed to purchase sizeable quantities of additional units. The wind sensors measure wind speed and direction some 200 M ahead of a turbine letting it prepare for wind changes before they reach it. Previous tests showed a 10% improvement in energy capture.

Both companies have agreed to use the services of a recognized third-party evaluator to confirm the results of the test program, which will begin after installation of the sensors. Financial terms of the sales agreement were not disclosed.
