Cathie Associates moves to support offshore wind development in the U.S.

By Michelle Froese | January 31, 2017

Cathie Associates’ new U.S. offshore wind hub is part of the company’s plans for international expansion and to support the American offshore wind market.

Offshore geoscience and geotechnical engineering consultancy, Cathie Associates, have formed a new U.S. hub in Boston, Massachusetts dedicated to offshore wind development.

“We have been following the industry for over five years and support a number of planned developments,” explained Founder and CEO David Cathie. “We feel the time is right to demonstrate our future commitment to U.S. offshore wind industry, and  recognize the importance of local content and American jobs.”

The move is part of the company’s plans for international expansion, and will enable them to better focus on offshore wind development in the country.

“With the construction of the Block Island wind farm and both Dong Energy and Statoil entering the market, momentum is beginning to build,” added Gareth Ellery, Group Business Development Manager. “With over 25 GW of offshore wind experience and a growing track record in the U.S., we are excited to support this emerging industry.”
