CleanChoice Energy customers hit clean-energy milestone

By Michelle Froese | February 27, 2019

CleanChoice Energy, a renewable energy company that empowers people and businesses to cut emissions and live cleaner lives, has announced that its customers have surpassed four billion pounds of carbon dioxide pollution avoided.

CleanChoice Energy’s customers have hit a major milestone — avoiding 4,000,000,000 pounds of CO2 pollution by making the switch to renewable energy.

The milestone highlights the positive impact CleanChoice Energy’s customers have made since the company’s customer-facing launch in 2013. Avoiding four billion pounds of carbon pollution represents the equivalent of the amount of carbon sequestered by 2.1 million acres of forests in a year or preventing the burning of more than 2 billion pounds of coal.

CleanChoice Energy helps people and businesses make the switch from polluting power to 100% clean wind and solar energy.
“We’re incredibly proud of the impact CleanChoice Energy’s customers are making for the climate–and there couldn’t be a more important time to support clean energy,” said Tom Matzzie, Founder and CEO of CleanChoice Energy. “The world’s leading climate scientists have warned that we only have a dozen years to limit the worst climate impacts. Our customers are taking an important step to limit their climate pollution and support clean energy.”
CleanChoice Energy offers renewable energy products to American homes and businesses. The company has made it easy for people to choose clean energy as-a-service instead of as a home construction project. Through its retail clean energy, energy storage, and community solar offerings, CleanChoice has become one of the largest direct-to-consumer renewable energy providers in the United States.
