Cleantech Open finds and supports renewable-energy companies

By Paul Dvorak | February 23, 2012

The Cleantech Open is in its sixth year and just a few accomplishments include:

·         Since 2006, the Cleantech Open has established itself as the leading force for accelerating clean-technology entrepreneurs.

·         Of the nearly 600 companies the Open has accelerated, 80% remain viable and have gone on to raise external capital exceeding $660 million.

·         The Open is powered by a network of more than 3,000 professional volunteers willing to lend time and expertise to entrepreneurs who may otherwise not be able to get their ideas off the ground. And,

·         For 2012, we have seven active regions across the US, one region in France, and more regions forming across the globe. The goal is for a global clean-tech network so a Cleantech company in Kenya or South Africa can receive mentoring from someone in India, Iceland, or Italy; license their clean technology to a company in China or Chile, and receive venture capital from Australia or the United States.

Launch party at NASA Ames in Mountain View, California: March 23, 5:30 to 8:00 pm.  More about the Cleantech Open launch here: http://bit.ly/cleantechopen2012launch  There is also a post on the Cleantech Facebook page:
