Clever design in Airsynergy TES brings renewable power to off grid locals

By Paul Dvorak | July 8, 2016

The TES uses a multi bladed augmenter that accelerates the airflow across the rotors. The dual rotor system uses a slip clutch with both an augmented high torque multi-blade turbine and a two bladed high tip speed rotor. During operation the multi-blade rotor augments the air flow on to the rotor system allowing it to cut in at considerably lower wind speeds when compared with conventional wind turbines.

The multibladed TES turbine is rated for 4.3 kW.

The company says TES is the complete low cost energy generation & storage solution. It offers total energy independence 24 hours a day at about half the utility price point for power.

Options include hybrid power generation to maximize available energy, and an aqua pumping and filtration system. A control center to house allows other possibilities while a remote monitoring system optimizes power and maximize storage with proactive maintenance due notification. A home security system is also optional.

A few benefits include fixed power prices for up to 30 years, simplified payback period under 7.5 years, (based on 5 m/s wind site). The unit eliminates need for an expensive grid connection, and the unit is effective on low wind sites. Furthermore, the turbine runs quietly, planning permission is not required in most areas, and the tilt up tower makes it easy to erect.
