Climb assist receives U.S. patent

By Nic Sharpley | August 14, 2012

Power Climber Wind, a division of SafeWorks, LLC and a supplier of powered access equipment, says it has received a U.S. patent for its IBEX climb assist system.

The wireless EasyClimb Controller lets IBEX users select their own assistance settings from 50 to 125 lbs (25 to 55 kgs), and provides constant load support in both the up and down directions, regardless of climbing speed. The IBEX climb assist puts complete control over the climbing experience in the hands of the wind technician by delivering a personalized performance, increasing safety, and improving productivity.

“IBEX provides a customizable and comfortable ride for wind technicians,” says Gregory Crew, Director – Global Wind Product Management.  “The closed-loop control system lets the IBEX responds to the climber rather than the other way around.”
