Manufacturer of access and safety equipment Power Climber Wind will supply IBEX 1000 Climb Assists for forty wind towers at the Flat Water Wind project located near Humboldt, Nebraska. The Climb Assists will be installed in 40 GE 1.5-MW turbines which will generate up to 60 MW of wind power for Richardson County.
The climb assist puts complete control over climbing into the hands of the worker doing it. Unlike similar products on the market, the system responds to the climber’s movement and behavior. The intelligent system allows user-adjustable support settings at 50, 75, 100, and 125 lbs (23, 34, 45, and 57 kgs), and provides constant load support in both the up and down directions, regardless of climbing speed. It can be installed in any new or existing wind tower with straight-run ladders, whether tubular steel or lattice construction.
