Composites One recognized for safety and presented with 2016 Platinum Award from Great West

By Michelle Froese | July 10, 2017

Composites One LLC was presented the Platinum Award by Great West Casualty Company as a part of the 2016 National Safety Awards Program. It marks the 15th consecutive year that Composites One has been named an award recipient.

Composites One provides raw materials and process consumables for manufacture of turbine blades, as well as maintenance and repair of wind components.

The National Safety Awards Program recognizes carriers in similar operations (truckload and less than truckload) with awards based on their year-end preventable accident results. Carriers are eligible to receive a Platinum, Gold, Silver, or a Participatory Award.

This past year, the program drew more than 800 participants from across the country.

“The Composites One organization accepts the Great West Platinum Award with great pride again this year,” said Leon Garoufalis, President for Composites One. “Day-to-day operational safety is a fundamental core value at Composites One and is a key day-to-day focus at all our locations.”

He added: “By operating safely, we are able to provide real value to our customers through quality service, consistency and dependability. It is gratifying to see our outstanding safety record recognized by a company like Great West.”

Great West Casualty Company is the nation’s leading provider of property and casualty insurance for the trucking industry. With more than 60 years of experience, Great West offers risk management, underwriting claims, and loss control services exclusively to the trucking industry. Great West is headquartered in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and has regional offices in Meridian, Idaho; Bloomington, Indiana; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Arlington, Texas.
