DEKRA accepting nominations for 2018 Safety in Action ICON awards

By Michelle Froese | September 28, 2017

DEKRA Insight, a global leader in safety at work, is now accepting nominations for its annual Safety in Action ICON awards, recognizing remarkable individuals who make safety happen every day in the workplace.

Safety in Action

The 2018 winners will be honored at the Safety in Action Conference in Orlando, FL, March 15-16, 2018.

For 30 years, the conference has created networking and learning opportunities among employee teams, supervisors, and managers from across diverse industries and regions. Workshops and sessions are offered across a range of safety-related topics with an emphasis on practical application, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.

Winners will represent standout individuals such as a supervisor, facilitator or executive who have expertly guided safety and inspired people to go above and beyond for their co-workers.

“In 2018, we will welcome a new class of Safety in Action Icons. We are looking for people who represent the best in human innovation – those who give of their time and talent to protect others from harm,” said Jim Spigener, Senior Vice President, DEKRA Insight. “We invite you to nominate someone you believe deserves to be celebrated. Help us tell the world about your Safety in Action Icon as a way of saying “thank you” – and help us inspire others to continue making work, and the world, a safer place.”

Past winners include employees and executives from US Department of Transportation, BNSF Railway, PHI Inc., DSM Dyneema, Hexion Inc., Shell Oil, among others.

Nominations for Safety in Action Icons are now open online through December 15, 2017. Winners will be formally recognized during the Safety in Action Conference in Orlando, FLin March 2018.
