DNV GL, independent energy experts and certification body, has presented its Smarter Operations service portfolio at HUSUM Wind 2015 (Stand 1E28, Hall 1). The service portfolio, focused on the operational phase of the project life cycle, combines analytical capabilities with practical on-site assessments, spanning from short-term forecasting to optimized inspections and monitoring services. The portfolio has been developed to support wind and solar energy project developers, and owners and operators to boost the revenue of their assets.
A report by the Global Wind Energy Council highlighted that 2013 was the first year in over two decades that wind installation rates dropped globally. This shift in emphasis from building new capacity towards the optimization of the existing fleet is being heralded by a greater focus on safety and asset value. To support the industry in optimizing the management of its current fleet, DNV GL has developed an integrated approach to accelerate changes to the operational project life cycle.
