EDF Renewable Services (EDF RS), a provider of renewable O&M services in North America, has entered into a contract with ALLETE Clean Energy (ACE), to provide 24/7/365 remote-monitoring and turbine resets for five of its wind projects located in Oregon, Iowa, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.
The projects include:
- Condon (49.8 MW) in Oregon,
- Storm Lake I (108 MW) and Storm Lake II (76.5 MW) in Iowa,
- Lake Benton I (104.25 MW) in Minnesota, and
- Armenia Mountain (100.5 MW) in Pennsylvania.
In addition, EDF RS currently provides full service O&M to Chanarambie (85.5 MW) and Viking (9 MW) in Minnesota for a total of 534 MW comprised of GE, Mitsubishi, and Zond wind turbines.
Under the terms of the agreement, EDF RS will provide remote services performed by the company’s NERC registered Operations Control Center (OCC). The OCC provides an efficient, reliable, and secure operating platform, while benefiting from the centralization of SCADA functions and consolidation of multiple vendor environments to provide a common operating view.
With enhanced service offerings with strategic partnerships, EDF RS brings auxiliary engineering and SCADA solutions to its customers.
“EDF Renewable Services looks forward to utilizing the capabilities of our state-of-the-art Operations Control Center to optimize performance and maximize the returns across all seven projects and to extend our business relationship with ALLETE Clean Energy,” said Chris Burch, O&M Business Development Manager. “We are confident that our expertise in this area will contribute to the long-term success of these assets.”
Dave Leveille, Director of Operations, added: “As ALLETE Clean Energy continues to grow our portfolio of operating wind assets, we have been pleased to expand our relationship with EDF Renewable Services. This relationship has provided us with access to extensive real-time operational experience and expertise while allowing ACE to focus on our core strengths in operations and maintenance.”
