As one of the fastest growing renewable energy companies in Massachusetts, EGP-NA’s new office, located at Andover Landing at Brickstone, more than doubles the company’s office square footage to support its current and future growth, while also providing its employees with an open, sustainable and smart work environment.
“Our company’s success is a testament to the state’s skilled workforce, attractive business climate, and strong renewable energy economy, all factors that have allowed us to grow here for more than 15 years,” said Rafael Gonzalez, Head of EGP-NA.
“Massachusetts has also created a growing innovation ecosystem that provides us with the opportunity to introduce and support new solutions to energy challenges helping reduce carbon emissions, while also creating jobs,” he added. “We look forward to continuing to be a long-term partner, innovator and energy leader in the State and across the country for many years to come.”
EGP-NA’s new office was designed to embody the company’s vision for an innovative, collaborative, and sustainable workspace. The construction and design includes several unique features including carpet made from recycled materials, EV charging stations, local reclaimed wood flooring, low-flow water fixtures, LED lighting and a comprehensive recycling and composting program.
The company worked with local Massachusetts based contractors to completely renovate the more than 60,000 square foot facility.
“The opening of Enel Green Power’s newly expanded Andover headquarters is a testament to the growth and strength of the Commonwealth’s clean energy industry,” said Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. “Our administration is committed to working with companies like Enel Green Power to solidify Massachusetts’ position as a national leader in the adoption of renewable energy generation and innovation.”
In addition to aligning with the company’s focus on sustainability and innovation, EGP-NA’s new office is also home to the company’s state of the art control room from which it monitors and manages its entire portfolio nationwide
Furthermore, the new space will accommodate the company’s expected growth in headcount in Andover, with the planned addition of engineers, administrative staff, and other professionals. As a sign of that anticipated growth, EGP-NA signed three turbine master supply agreements at the end of 2016 for approximately 3.5 GW of new wind capacity and is actively exploring new technologies including energy storage and electric vehicles.
EGP-NA, part of the Renewable Energies division of the Enel Group, is an owner and operator of renewable energy plants in North America with projects operating and under development in 23 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. EGP-NA operates around 100 plants with a managed capacity exceeding 3 GW powered by renewable wind, hydropower, geothermal and solar energy.
