Readers attending the Commercial UAV Expo Americas this month may like to include the Epson’s booth (#635). The company will be showcasing its third-generation Moverio augmented reality (AR), essentially a wearable video screen. Optimized for use with DJI hardware, the Epson Moverio BT-300 (FPV) Drone Edition glasses are continuing to become used often by many digital photographers and videographers who use drones in their work, such as those using drones to inspect wind turbines.

The Epson Moverio glasses provide a 0.43-in. HD display (1,280 x 720) with a pixel pitch of 7.5 micron
The glasses are said to:
- Let photographers see the drone camera feed as a transparent, high-definition ‘screen’ in their field of view while keeping their craft in sight as well, keeping them within FAA guidelines.
- Help photographers more easily guide their crafts for desired camera views to avoid such hazards as trees, poles, and buildings and restricted areas;
- Are a top-seller on many photography e-commerce sites, including B&Hwith an overall review of 4.5/5 stars.
The glasses provide a 0.43-in. HD display (1,280 x 720) with a pixel pitch of 7.5 microns. (Watch the two-minute video) As part of its continuing partnership with DJI, Epson can also provide an update on its efforts to offer the world’s first comprehensive AR app for drone piloting with smart glasses. The first version of the app will showcase a virtual simulator experience that allows drone pilots to test and train drones, via the DJI remote, in the users’ real-world environment.
