Ergodyne offers new line of touchscreen-friendly, protective work gloves

By Michelle Froese | February 19, 2019

In addition to touchscreen compatibility, the new gloves feature meets EN 388: 2121 X standards and makes use of a stretchy, breathable polymesh construction for all-day comfort and high levels of dexterity.

In addition to touchscreen compatibility, the new gloves meets EN 388: 2121 X standards and use breathable polymesh materials for all-day comfort.

Ergodyne’s line of ProFlex Work Gloves are made for the hazards of an average, everyday job site. The new ProFlex 710BLK and 812BLK Black Tactical gloves feature high levels of comfort, precision, and protection and are ideal for construction workers, according to Ergodyne.

Additionally, the gloves’ touchscreen-friendly thumbs and index fingers let wearers tap, type and text without removing their gloves.

“Obviously, anytime a worker has to remove their gloves, that increases the chance for injury,” said Chris Cota, senior product manager, Ergodyne. “And more and more, mobile devices are becoming an important tool on the job…so it only makes sense to create gloves that play nice with touchscreen technology”.

In addition to touchscreen compatibility, both new gloves feature materials and other considerations to improve comfort, fit and performance.

Constructed to meet EN 388: 3132 X standards, the 710BLK features reinforced neoprene knuckle pads, Tena-Grip padded palms to grip dry and oily surfaces and resilient, easy-breathing hex-stretch knit construction.

The 812BLK meets EN 388: 2121 X standards and makes use of a stretchy, breathable polymesh construction for all-day comfort and high levels of dexterity.

According the Center for Disease Control (CDC), work-related hand injuries account for over a million emergency room visits every year. In 70% of those cases, workers were not wearing gloves for reasons ranging from hand protection being too hot, bulky or it lessened their grip on the task at hand.
