Failsafe badge retractor for the rigors of daily security use

By Paul Dvorak | November 9, 2011

A 36-in. extension and 40-lb break strength on its spectra/nylon line let the RT5 withstand wear and tear of repetitive use.

Few employers allow all of their employees access to all facilities all of the time. That’s why it is critical to use electronic access control systems to limit employees’ access to their facilities. And equally critical is how the employee protects his security card, because when an access card is lost or misplaced even the most secure environment is suddenly… insecure.

For many professionals, maintaining security measures with proper identification is part of their daily job. Unfortunately, most badge retractors are not built to withstand the rigors of daily use and cannot be relied upon.

The recent Gear Keeper RT5 Super Badge Retractor, says the company, has an array of proprietary, industry leading features that puts it in a class of its own for security, versatility, and reliability. From its 36-inch extension to the 40-lb break strength on its sturdy spectra/nylon line, the RT5 can withstand the wear and tear of repetitive use — perfect for high security areas where employees have to frequently extend their badge.
