Fall protection for long ladders

Fall-arrest systems are prescribed when climbing ladders 3-m tall and up, according to EN 353-1. Most wind towers are easily over that limit. The fall arrester H-50 from Hailo LLC, Holbrook, NY, works by riding a center rail on company ladders. The device connects a safety harness worn by workers, and lets them freely climb up and down. But should a worker slip, the device sliding on the center rail locks into place, thereby preventing a fall. The H-50, rail guided, fall-arrest system is a safety device when using rung ladders and climb assists.

The H-50 fall arrest system consists of an aluminum ladder with accessories, a guide rail for above ground or below ground systems, lockable barrier, the SPL 50 fall arrester, resting platforms, and an entry pivot for the sliding arrester on the center rail.
