First Wind to host Stetson Wind snowmobile ride-in Saturday, Feb 15

The Stetson Wind Snowmobile Ride-In has become a popular event for the region’s snowmobilers interested in seeing a wind project up-close while enjoying the scenic beauty of the area.

The Stetson Wind Snowmobile Ride-In has become a popular event for the region’s snowmobilers interested in seeing a wind project up-close while enjoying the scenic beauty of the area.

First Wind will host its annual Stetson Wind Snowmobile Ride-In, which has become a popular event for the region’s snowmobilers interested in seeing a wind project up-close while enjoying the scenic beauty of the area. On Saturday, February 15, participants from all over Maine and New England will ride their sleds along a series of well-groomed trails and arrive at First Wind’s Stetson Operations & Maintenance building, near Danforth, Maine for a complimentary lunch and more activities.

For riders, a snowmobile helmet or hard hat is required.  All attendees, including members of the media, must sign a First Wind liability waiver form and are asked to be mindful of safety and respect posted signs.  Media should contact John Lamontagne at jlamontagne@firstwind.com.  Additional information and copies of the liability waiver can be found at http://ridethewindmaine.com.

WHO: First Wind will host the event with members from these invited groups: Quad County Snowmobile Club, Lincoln Snowhounds, Lee Mogul Pounders, and others.

WHERE: Ride-in from your club to the trail intersection at Atlas Road – Stetson Mountain, or meet at First Wind’s Operations & Maintenance building: Owl Mountain Road; T8 R3 MBPP, near Danforth, ME (Event site near the junction of Route 169 and Owl Mountain Road)

WHEN: Saturday, February 15, 2014, 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
