Gamesa tops its manufacturing record, producing over 1,800 turbines in one year

By Paul Dvorak | December 14, 2016

Gamesa officials tour a factory in Agreda, Spain.

Gamesa, a global technology leader in wind energy, has beaten its annual turbine manufacturing record, having made more than 1,880 units with productive capacity of 3,880 MW in 2016. The last record was attained eight years ago, in 2008, when the company produced 3,787 MW.

This milestone is markedly international as the turbines were assembled all over the world: India (36%), Europe (28%), China (26%) and Brazil (10%).

To mark this record, Gamesa’s four nacelle assembly factories, located in Ágreda (Spain), Tianjin (China), Camaçari (Brazil) and Mamandur (India), have organized several events.
