Gearbox Express (GBX), the only independent company in North America focused on providing down-tower, multi-brand wind gearbox remanufacturing services and parts, announced that it has partnered with HYDAC Technology Corporation, a global innovative manufacturer in wind-turbine technology, as a strategic partner for gearbox rebuilds focusing on the North American Wind Turbine market.
“We are excited to partner with HYDAC. It helps us expand our service offerings as we will have access to their entire wind product portfolio for our gearbox reman operations and aftermarket support for our field population,” said Bruce Neumiller, CEO of Gearbox Express. “And our partnership gives HYDAC a new avenue to go to market in North America. It’s a win-win for us both.”
HYDAC has been in the business of fluid power since 1963, HYDAC components can be found in wind turbines across the globe. HYDAC solutions filter, cool and lubricate gears in wind turbines, the impetus behind the partnership.
“HYDAC products are well known for their quality,” continued Neumiller. “Our manufacturing operations will have access to all the wind expertise HYDAC has to offer: their lab, sales and engineering, and training. Our customers will truly benefit.”
The collaboration is all part of HYDAC’s strategic goal to be the leading technology provider to the wind energy industry in North America.
“Gearbox Express has a great industry reputation and will continue to rise with the utilization of HYDAC components in their gearbox reman expertise,” said Mike Erickson, Wind MRO Market Manager. “They continue to grow and gain market share and have become a Wind Turbine gearbox reman market leader, so the timing for this partnership is perfect for both of us.”
