General Cable launches three new calculation apps

By WPED Contributor | May 22, 2014

General Cable recently launched three new mobile applications to help end users and customers using their smartphones or tablets maximize their productivity no matter where they are. The three new General Cable apps are:

  • Voltage Drop: Calculate the maximum circuit distance and minimum conductor size for your required voltage drop.
  • Conductor Ampacity: Calculate conductor ampacities for different temperature ratings.
  • Conduit Fill: Calculate the minimum conduit size per the National Electrical Code.

“We are always looking for ways to do more for our customers, whether it is a new or improved product or better service and support,” said Brian Moriarty, senior vice resident, global sales strategy and North America sales, General Cable.

“We know many of the people who use our products spend more time on a jobsite with mobile devices than they do in an office with a desktop computer,” said Alison Earle, sales operations manager, General Cable. “This is why we developed these apps, which can be easily downloaded, and quickly used to calculate current carrying capacity, conduit size and voltage drop — basically doing the calculations for them on the job, saving them time and money.”

The General Cable apps are available for download from the App Store or on Google Play. View the apps video at www.youtube.com, and discover other helpful tools on the resource page at www.generalcable.com.
