Scandinavian business for Nordex continues strong. The wind turbine manufacturer has now signed the second contract with Norwegian Midtfjellet Vindkraft AS (MVAS), for the delivery and installation of another 23 Nordex wind turbines for a Phase 2 extension of the “Midtfjellet” wind farm.
The combined 110-MW wind farm will become one of the largest wind projects in recent years in Norway and is being built on the island of Stord. Civil works are in the finishing stages with wind turbine deliveries counting thru July 2012 for Phase 1, 21 N90/2,500 turbines.
For Phase 2, the OEM will deliver a mix of wind turbines – 13, N90/2500 and 10, N100/2500, to maximize the energy yield. Deliveries are slated for mid March 2013. Both agreements include five-year premium service contracts with option for a further ten years.
