HEIDENHAIN announces new product specialist for automation division

Jonathan Dougherty has been named the North American Product Specialist, Automation Division for HEIDENHAIN.

HEIDENHAIN Corporation announces the new hire of Jonathan Dougherty as the North American Product Specialist, Automation Division.

Based in Schaumburg, IL, Dougherty is responsible for automation product support including the company’s rotary encoders, slip rings and resolvers.  HEIDENHAIN markets such products from not only the HEIDENHAIN brand, but also of their RENCO, Leine & Linde and LTN brands.

Providing product support to North American customers and prospects, Dougherty specializes in finding solutions for applications such as in robotics, servo drives, oil & gas equipment, elevators and 3-D printing equipment, to name a few.  Dougherty is also responsible for assisting in the market research and marketing of his product area, and also occasionally travels to customer destinations as support.

A graduate of University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana, Dougherty received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering.  While in college, Dougherty served as a UofI Engineering Ambassador, as well as served as a Project Manager for the university’s Learning in Community (LIC), a program that led students in the community on engineering endeavors.

    3D print technology is new trends for the manufacturing in the world, hope one day, it can be used for slip ring industry. Slip ring is a electrical rotary connector which allows transfer signal and power from a stationary structure to a state interface.
