Henkel a category leader in Dow Jones Sustainability Index

By Steven Bushong | November 2, 2012

For the sixth consecutive year, Henkel has been recognized as sector leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe. Henkel again took first place in the Nondurable Household Products category and remains the only company in its sector to feature in the DJSI World and the DJSI Europe.

The indexes list corporations that follow the principles of sustainable development in their business operations. The ranking is based on an analysis of corporate economic, environmental, and social performance, tracking issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, resource efficiency, supply chain standards, and labor practices. Only 10% of the world’s 2,500 largest corporations are selected in the DJSI World.

“We are convinced that for us sustainability is a strategic success factor and a source of competitive advantage,” said Henkel CEO Kasper Rorsted. “Through our many years of commitment to sustainable development we have acquired both an excellent reputation as a company and leading positions worldwide. And we want to further extend this lead by working together with our partners, customers, and consumers in the development of viable solutions for a sustainable future.”
