Hydac cable clamp secures different sized cables and hoses

By Paul Dvorak | June 7, 2013

cable clamp

HYROFLEX Cable Clamping Systems offer a unique solution for cable mounting along the length of a tower. Its modular design adapts to any cable arrangement and allows for easy installation & maintenance. These clamps provide a secure hold, reduce wear, and keep cables cool. Two Hyroflex Cable Clamping systems are available, one for tower mounting and the other for drip loops.

The HYROFLEX cable clamp is a part of a system of various mounting supports for securing power cables in wind turbines. The clamps come in various versions with three to nine cable-mounting segments. Customized inserts allow for different cable groupings per customer request. The basic frame is formed by a steel support structure, which is fixed to the tower and provides the frame for mounting individual cable segments. This system provides pivoting, spring-action fasteners fixed by snap hooks to prevent the cables from dislodging. In addition, the clamping band protects against any potential short-circuit forces.

A few features include:

  • Two available styles: Half-moon and Star
  • Allow quick installation and excellent support of power cables in wind turbines
  • Modular combinations of clamp segments, allow, for example, up to 27 power cables
  • Clamps give easy access to all cables
  • Cable diameters can range up to 35 mm
  • Sturdy construction
  • Fire and short-circuit tested
