kWantera, a Pittsburgh-based start-up and General Electric Company, through its GE Renewable Energy business, announced a technology alliance to offer kWantera’s energy trading solution. The aim is to complement GE’s Digital Wind Farm offering.
GE Renewable Energy is currently developing a partner network and engaging the start-up ecosystem to enhance its Digital Wind Farm and other digital products on its Predix* platform. Predix is a secure Cloud-based platform built for and by industry experts to support the unique scale and requirements of industrial data.
kWantera is an ideal partner to further GE’s application because the company uses predictive analytics to build software tools for companies that buy, sell, or consume energy in markets across North America.
“Working with kWantera is part of GE Renewable Energy’s strategy of exploring innovative digital technologies to strengthen our product offerings,” said Sanjeev Addala, Chief Digital Officer, GE Renewable Energy.
This alliance will enable kWantera and GE Renewable Energy to co-develop new digital solutions that let renewable energy customers better manage operational risk and scheduling decisions, and thereby enhance revenue from their asset base.
kWantera CEO, Kyle O’Connor, said, “We are excited to partner with GE Renewable Energy to bring kWantera’s energy market enhancement technology to wind operators across the U.S.”
