Lighting for offshore MET towers and wind turbines

By Paul Dvorak | March 18, 2010

Flash Technology, the U.S. developer of FAA lighting and monitoring equipment has teamed with Tideland Signal Corporation to provide a complete solution for aviation and marine safety at offshore wind farms. Flash Technology has over 2,000 lighting systems installed at wind farms across the U.S. The company provides specialized obstruction lighting products to serve wind energy, airport, telecommunications, broadcast, and utilities markets and specialty applications. Its ArgusON network operations center provides remote monitoring solutions for lighting systems to meet FAA regulations. Flash Technology reviews the various lighting and service areas where the company can assist wind developers, turbine OEMs, and contractors.

The LED light mounts on wind turbines to warn aircraft of the turbine's presence.
